As Companies continue to leverage their partnerships with NPOs in delivering on their CSI initiatives it is hard not to notice the transformation that is occurring within the CSI field and especially in terms of how partnering / implementing NPOs are structured. Increasingly NPOs themselves are beginning to consider how they can align their structure and operations to effectively deliver on the mutual objectives of the NPO & their donors.
It is therefore imperative that the governance of NPOs should be adaptable and robust. It should also provide accountability to current and potential donors. It should also strive to be transparent. In this regard governing boards should seek to strike a balance between effective stakeholder engagement and consistent strategic guidance of implementation of deliverables.
