Todays Boards must balance their roles, responsibilities and the need to ensure that the organisations that they lead stay abreast of technological advances and ever growing regulation. It is not enough that organisations should be innovative, Boards must ensure that they are sustainable in every way.
In order for Organisations to be sustainable and competitive they should seek to attract Board members who are strategically and technically equipped to enhance their operations. It may be necessary for Organisations to provide additional training where gaps are identified. Organisations must also seek to provide ample opportunities to the Board to have a more holistic understanding of their operations. This will add to the knowledge that the Board gleens from reports and analysis provided by the management team.
